Keystroke Point of Sale Help

Configuration Manager - Menus - Hardware - Cash Drawer - Multiple Cash Drawers

Keystroke provides the ability to configure multiple cash drawers and/or tills. Each till may be assigned to a specific Clerk, providing added security by allowing easy tracking of drawer amounts and Closeouts by Clerk.

Till Assignments allow Clerks to move quickly from one Machine to another without losing track of Tills. This sort of dynamic Till Assignment may be useful in stores in which the Machines (including the physical cash drawers) are in fixed locations, but the Clerks may be assigned to different Machines throughout the day. Each Clerk is responsible for a Till (typically a cash tray) which can be physically moved from one Machine (physical cash drawer) to another.

First, different Machine Numbers must be assigned to each Keystroke machine on the network (using the MNUM=RNUM Startup Switch). A Machine Number and a Till Number are then assigned to each Drawer using the Cash Drawer function. Finally, each Clerk is assigned a Till Number using the Till Assignments function in the Database Manager. Once the relationship between Clerk and Till is set up, a Clerk may log on to only a Machine that has been assigned their Till Number.
