To assign Till Numbers by Drawer:
- Select Till Assignments and then select By Drawer from the Special menu to display the Till Assignments by Drawer screen. The Till column displays Till Number currently assigned to each Clerk.
- Select a Machine/Drawer/Till combination from the list and press [Enter] to display the Drawer/Till Number screen.
- Enter the new Till Number and press [F10] or select [Ok] to save.
Note: Before the Till Number may be assigned using the Till Assignments by Drawer screen, the Drawers for each machine must be set up using the Cash Drawer function in the Configuration Manager - Hardware menu. The Cash Drawer function in Configuration Manager may also be used to assign a Till Number to a Drawer.
Access to the Cash Drawer function and the Till Assignments function can be controlled separately using Security Levels allowing a floor manager, for example, to change Till Assignments, but not the other Drawer settings.
The Closeout function uses the term "Register" to be consistent with earlier versions of Keystroke. An individual Till can be closed out by entering the desired Till Number in the Register field of the initial Closeout Closeout Date/Time Range screen. Till #1 closes out the Default Register (#1) and Till #0 produces a combined Closeout of all Tills (including the Default Register).
There are three options for the Clerk Till Number setting:
Till #0 - Allows the Clerk to log on to any Machine. The Machine's Register Number does not change. All transactions entered by the Clerk will be included in the Default Register Closeout (Register #1). Till #0 would normally be assigned to Managers and/or "floating" Clerks.
Till #1 - Allows the Clerk to log on to Machines assigned to Till #1, Drawer #0, or Drawer #9999. All transactions entered by the Clerk are included in the Default Register Closeout (Register #1). Till #1 would normally be assigned to Clerks who do not require separate Closeout functions.
Till #X - (where X is any number other than 0 or 1). The Clerk can log on to Machines assigned to Till #X, Drawer #0, or Drawer #9999. Because each Till can be closed out separately, Till #X should be assigned to Clerks whose transactions require a separate Closeout.
Although some fields are still labeled Register (such as in the Closeout module), Keystroke uses the Register Number only to a limited degree. When a Clerk logs in, the Register Number is reset to the Clerk's Till Number (unless the Clerk logs in with Till 0 or Drawer 0. Sales rung up on Till 0 and Drawer 0 are credited to the default Register #1).
