Sales Manager - Parameters - Line Item Entry - Stock Shortage Warning

Video Screenshot

The Stock Shortage Warning Line Item Entry Parameter is used to warn the Clerk if the quantity of the item entered on the sales transaction screen is not available in stock. If the Merge Same Items Parameter is also enabled, the available QOH is not checked until the Merge Same Items function has merged lines together.

If Stock Shortage Warning is enabled and the quantity of the item entered on the transaction is greater than its Quantity On Hand, Keystroke displays the Stock Shortage Warning message showing the item's description and available Quantity On Hand. Select [OK] or press [F10] to continue with the quantity entered before the warning message was displayed. Select [Cancel] or press [Esc] to change the quantity to the available Quantity On Hand.

If Stock Shortage Warning is disabled, the Stock Shortage Warning message is not displayed when the quantity being sold is greater than the available Quantity On Hand.

Note: The Stock Shortage Warning message is not displayed if too large a quantity is entered in the Order Quantity field (on Sales Orders, Special Orders, etc.). It is displayed if too large a quantity is entered in the Ship column of a Sales Order. Use the Check Order Quantity Line Item Entry Parameter to check available stock for the Order Quantity field.

To enable this parameter:
- Select Parameters from the Sales Manager Transaction Menu.
- Select Line Items.
- Select Stock Shortage Warning on the Line Item Entry Parameters screen.
- Use the mouse or the [Space Bar] to turn the parameter ON or OFF.
- Select [OK] or press [F10] to save.
