When a document is printed, the computer communicates with the printer using a driver. Windows includes printer drivers that can be used by any Windows program. Most programs use the drivers provided by Windows.
Keystroke can use either Keystroke's own built-in drivers or the WINDOWS driver. In many cases, either type of driver will work. There are some exceptions.
The WINDOWS driver should be used:
- to print barcodes from Keystroke.
- if the printer is a Windows-only printer.
- if the printer is connected using a USB cable.
A Keystroke driver should be used if:
- Windows drivers do not print forms correctly.
- A Windows driver for the printer is not installed on the system.
In general, the WINDOWS driver should be used unless there are issues.
