Keystroke Point of Sale Help

Sales Manager - Parameters - Line Item Entry - Global Max Price

The Global Max Price Line Item Entry Parameter (available only with Keystroke Advanced licenses) defines the Maximum Price that can be entered when manually overriding the price of any item on the sales transaction screen by editing the dollar amount in the Price column. If the amount entered exceeds the Global Max Price, Keystroke displays the Invalid Number message. It is intended to help guard against the accidental scanning of a barcode into the Price field. This parameter is similar to the High Amount Lock Out ("HALO") feature available on some cash register systems.

Note: If the edited price is higher than the amount from the item's database record Max Price Field (and the field amount is not 0.00) Keystroke displays the Price Is Above Maximum Price/Override Maximum Price? message. If the Clerk has the Override Maximum Price security level, the item's maximum price may be overridden.

Note: The Max Price Field Line Item Entry Parameter defines which Price field on the Inventory database record is to be used for the Max Price of the item.

To enable this parameter:
- Select Parameters from the Sales Manager Transaction Menu.
- Select Line Items.
- Select Global Max Price.
- Enter the desired price amount.
- Select [OK] or press [F10] to save.
