The Sales Transaction number is used to identify transactions by their Sales Invoice Number, Sales Order Number, Layaway Number, etc.
Keystroke assigns a number to each new Transaction. When a new number is assigned it is initially displayed in parentheses (No. (143)). It represents the number that is assigned to the transaction when it is saved. After it is saved the parentheses are no longer displayed.
The Sales Transaction Number may be changed using the Number/Date function from the Transaction menu.
The Sales Transaction Type's Next Number From setting defines the way in which Sales Transaction numbers are assigned. The Next Number From setting may be changed for each Sales Transaction Type.
The Number field is displayed by default in All Sales Transaction Types.
