The Copy Inventory Comment Line Item Entry Parameter is used to copy the item's Inventory Database record Comment to the Line Item Comment when the item is entered on the Purchase Transaction Item Entry screen.
If Copy Inventory Comment is enabled and the item's Inventory Database record has a Comment, the Comment is copied to the item's Line Item Comment when the item is entered on the Purchase Transaction.
If Copy Inventory Comment is disabled, the Comment is not copied to the item's Line Item Comment.
Note: Any part of the Inventory Database record's comment field that is enclosed in pipe characters [|] is not copied to the Line Item Comment as shown in this example:
"This part will be copied to the Line Item Comment field |but this part will not be copied|".
To enable this parameter:
- Select Parameters from the Purchase Manager Transaction Menu.
- Select Line Items.
- Select Copy Inventory Comment on the Line Item Entry Parameters screen.
- Use the mouse or the [Space Bar] to turn the parameter ON or OFF.
- Select [OK] or press [F10] to save.
