General Security Levels:
Function (Default Level): Description of function.
Biometric Scan Not Required on Time Clock (10): If the Clerk has a password, they may bypass the biometric scan to confirm their identity when using the Time Clock function.
Change Parameters (5): Controls access to the Parameters functions.
Can Click on Main Screen (10): Controls use of the mouse (or use of a touch screen) on the main transaction line item entry screen. The mouse and touch screen still work on toolbar buttons and in pop-up dialog boxes.
Clerk can use Change password function (10): Controls access to the Change Password function located under the Utilities Menu.
Close Program (9999 to allow on "Enter Clerk") (5): If Clerks do not meet this level, the use of the standard Windows Close methods ([Alt+F4], clicking the X, etc.) is blocked. May be set to 9999 which allows the program to be closed even when on the Enter Clerk screen (when technically no clerk exists to meet the level).
CM: Backup Function (9): Controls access to the file Backup function located under the Configuration, Files Menu.
CM: Edit Security Levels Table (0): Controls access to the Security Levels settings.
CM: File Maintenance (5): Controls access to functions which may accidentally alter database (i.e. Pack, Restore, Merge, etc).
Command Prompt Utility (5): Controls access to the Command Prompt (DOS Shell) function on the Utilities menu.
Edit Toolbars and Toolbar Buttons (5): Controls access to the TouchScreen Editor and Button Editor.
Email - Can Cancel Sending Email (10): Controls whether or not an email may be cancelled from the Email Address prompt that is automatically displayed if the Email To: field is blank or from the Confirm Email function that is enabled from the Mail Port parameters on the Email Printer setup.
Enter Till Number on Clock In (8): Allows entering a till number when clocking in. This is based on the Security Level of the Clerk who is currently logged in, and not on the Clerk who is clocking in.
Move Windows (10): Controls the ability to move (drag) windows and screens to different locations.
Open Drawer (5): Allows the cash drawer to be opened (without a reason) by pressing [F7].
Override File Locked by Another User message (2): When a data file that Keystroke needs is locked by another program, Keystroke displays a message while waiting for the file to become available. Pressing [Esc] from the message screen tells Keystroke to quit waiting and abandon the current procedure. A clerk that does not meet this level must wait for the file to open or have a manager clerk in to clear the message.
Paid Out (10): Allows the cash drawer to be opened using the Paid Out function [Shift]+[F7].
Reports - Save Local Settings (7): If the Clerk does not have Save Local Settings permission then changing the settings on a Local Report does not automatically save that setting (but the Last Used report setting is updated).
Reports - Save Shared Settings (6): If the Clerk does not have Save Shared Settings permission then changing the settings on a Shared Report does not automatically save that setting (but the Last Used report setting is updated).
Run Audit Reports (0): Allows the Audit report to be run.
Run Report Editor (6): Controls access to the Report Editor. Does not affect Report Manager.
Run with Drawer Open (0): Allows activity to continue when the cash drawer is open. See Cash Drawer Function - Drawer Status.
Save Window Positions (9): Controls the position of windows and screens that were moved if allowed by the Move Windows security level. If the level is not met, then the window and screen positions are reloaded when the module is exited.
Send Clerk Messages (9): Controls the ability to send messages to other Clerks.
Show Hidden Records in List Boxes (5): Controls the display of the [Show Hidden] button on the Lookup List screen and the use of [Ctrl]+[F2] to toggle whether or not hidden records are displayed.
Time Clock - Clock In NOT Required (10): Allows Login without Clocking In.
Time Clock - Save without printing (10): Controls the display of the [Ok] button on the Time Clock function. If the level is not met, the [Ok] button is hidden and the Time Clock requires that the Print Button be used to both print and save the Time Clock entry. If there are no print buttons are available and the level is not met, then the Time Clock function does not run and the Access Denied message is displayed.
View cost of items (7): View Cost on a sale (in Price column). Also hides Cost in the Line Item Details box from Clerks with insufficient security.
View Cust. Amount Due in List Box (9): View Amount Due when looking up a Customer from Customer Lookup List.
View Menu Bar / Auto Logout (10): Controls the display of the Top Menu Bar and the monitoring of the Auto Logout time. This is designed to be used for a
"sales entry only" Clerk (with Clerk Security Level = 11) on a self check-out kiosk. See Using Kiosk Mode
View Other Salesperson's Customers (10): Allows Clerks to view Customers that have other Clerks' Clerk Numbers in the Customer Database Salesperson field. Clerks normally are not allowed to see any customer that has a Salesperson number other than 0 or the viewing Clerk's Clerk Number in the Customer's Salesperson field. This is applied throughout the system except for when viewing the Customer Database Main Screen in the Database Manager. If a Clerk has access to view or edit customers in Database Manager, then they will be able to see all Customers.
View Summarized History [Ctrl]+[F5] (9): View an item's Summarized History using [Ctrl]+[F5].
VM: Post Variance (5): Make the Post button available for Variances.
VM: Use full Variance Screen (else PhysQ only) (5): Controls the view of the Variance screen. If the level is not met, the Variance screen is displayed in the Blind Variance Mode where items' Descriptions, Physical Qty, and Costs (or Prices) are displayed but not their QOH or Variance Qty.
