Configuration Manager - Menus - Tables - Gift Cards

Gift Cards are different than Gift Certificates.

Gift Cards use Triggers and Authorization Methods to Issue/Sell, Redeem, Reload, and Check Balances for gift cards available from Vantiv/Worldpay and Cayan. The Gift Card Entry screen in Sales Manager is "triggered" when either a line item is entered on a transaction or when a payment type is selected. The Gift Card Entry screen may also be displayed manually by pressing [Ctrl]&[F7].

In most cases, at least two (2) Gift Card Types need to be set up to be triggered differently when entering Line Items or Payment Types. Typically, when a Gift Card is Issued or Reloaded (value added), the Gift Card Entry screen is automatically displayed (triggered) when a line item is entered or scanned. When a Gift Card is Redeemed (value subtracted), the Gift Card Entry screen is automatically displayed when triggered by the payment type selected.

Gift Cards may be reported as either a Payment Type or Line Item. Reporting the Gift Card is different than triggering the Gift Card.

The following Gift Card information may be printed on invoices and receipts:

Masked Gift Card Number
Gift Card Amount
Gift Card Balance
Gift Card Approval Code
