Keystroke Point of Sale Help

Sales Manager - Parameters - Line Item Entry - Prescription Item

Enable the Prescription Item parameter (available only with Keystroke Advanced licenses) to read of barcodes printed on prescriptions from a pharmacy which contain the Prescription ID and the Price but no item information.

When the Prescription Item Line Item Entry Parameter is set and the line item code entered on the sales transaction screen is not found on any inventory item record:

- Keystroke verifies that the scanned code is at least 18 characters long and begins with "RX".
- Keystroke uses the "Prescription Item" for the inventory item being added to the sales transaction.
- The Product Code for the item is set to the scanned code.
- The Cost and Price fields are set to the values embedded in the barcode.

To enable this parameter:
- Select Parameters from the Sales Manager Transaction Menu.
- Select Line Items.
- Select the Prescription Item field the Line Item Entry Parameters screen
- Enter the Stock Number of the Prescription Item or press [Ins] to select the Prescription Item from the Inventory Lookup List.
- Select [OK] or press [F10] to save.

Note: The Prescription Item is a special Inventory item. It represents any item with a special prescription barcode that is scanned on the sales transaction screen and is not found in the Inventory database.
