The Enable Quantity * Item Line Item Entry Parameter allows multiples of the same item to be quickly entered on a sales transaction screen.
To enable this parameter:
- Select Parameters from the Sales Manager Transaction Menu.
- Select Line Items.
- Select Enable Quantity * Item on the Line Item Entry Parameters screen.
- Use the mouse or the [Space Bar] to turn the parameter ON or OFF.
- Select [OK] or press [F10] to save.
When enabled and when scanning barcodes to enter items (Line Item Entry Parameter-Entry Field is set to Product Code), this parameter enables the Clerk to enter the quantity, followed by the [*] key, followed by the barcode scan. This method is faster and more efficient than scanning each and every item.
For example: Instead of scanning the barcode on each of 10 of the same item:
- Enter 10.
- Press the [*] key.
- Scan the barcode.
Keystroke enters the item on the sales screen and enters the quantity 10.
This parameter allows multiples of the same item to be entered using any of the item entry fields: Description, Product Code, Stock Number, Class, Manufacturer, and AltID#. To enter 10 of the same item by Stock Number, set the Line Item Entry Parameter-Entry Field to Stock Number and then use the example above, but in the third step enter the Stock Number (instead of scanning the barcode).
