Sales Transactions can display three type of Comments: Transaction Comments, Line Item Comments, and Customer Comments.
Transaction Comments are entered, edited and viewed by pressing [Shift]+[Enter] while on the Sales Transaction Complete Sale screen. The Transaction Comment is used to enter a comment that applies to the Sales Transaction as a whole as opposed to a specific line item.
Line Item Comments are entered, edited and viewed by pressing [Shift]+[Enter] while on a specific Line Item on the Sales Transaction Item Entry screen. Line Item Comments may also be viewed by selecting the Line Item Comment Detail Box (TRNDET1.DAT) in the Sales Transaction Type Entry Parameters which displays the Line Item Comment for the selected line item in the Detail Box at the lower left corner of the Sales Transaction screen.
Customer Comments are entered, edited and viewed by pressing [Shift]+[Enter] while on the Enter Customer screen or while editing the Customer Database record. Customer Comments may be viewed automatically on the Enter Customer screen by enabling the Customer Entry - Display - Comment parameter.
The Comment Flag is displayed in the lower left corner of the Sales Transaction screen when a comment is available to view.
Transaction and Line Item Comments do not affect Inventory Database record Comments. Inventory Database record Comments may be entered, edited and viewed by pressing [Shift]+[Enter] while on a specific Inventory Database record.
