Database Manager - Inventory Database - Order Data Screen - Order Unit

The Order Unit field is a four character alphanumeric field used to describe the type of packaging by which a product is purchased (e.g., each, case, can, 6pk, feet, gal, etc.).

For certain types of Inventory it can be especially helpful to print the Order Unit on Purchase Orders so Vendors correctly understand the quantity being ordered (e.g., 5 each and not 5 cases).

It is available to be printed on orders invoices/receipts, price tags, shelf labels, and on some reports.

The Order Unit is not updated and has no effect on Inventory quantities.

Note: Both the Order Unit and Sale Unit fields are intended to be used for clarification on printed forms only. The Multiplier field is used to define the logical relationship between the Order Unit and Sale Unit fields.
