Access Clerk Messages from the Clerk Database Screens by selecting the Messages Button at the bottom left, by clicking the Messages Tab at the bottom of the screen (only when a clerk has content in their messages), by pressing [Ctrl]+[F9], or by selecting Clerk Messages from the Utilities menu.

Clerk Messages are displayed for viewing under the following circumstances:
- New Clerk Messages are displayed when a Clerk logs in.
- Both new and old Clerk Messages are displayed when a Clerk clocks in.
- When Clerk Messages has been selected from the Utilities menu.

Note: The current Clerk may view and edit other Clerks' messages if Security Levels allow them access to the Clerk Database. Press [Ctrl]+[F9] while viewing a Clerk database record to view that Clerk's messages.

When a Clerk Message is entered, Keystroke automatically inserts the date and the current Clerk's initials at the beginning of the message. Along with the standard keyboard keys, the following commands are available when entering Clerk Messages:

[Shift]+[DownArrow] - Selects the text below the cursor, one line at a time.

[Shift]+[UpArrow] - Selects the text above the cursor, one line at a time.

[Shift]+[LeftArrow] - Selects the text preceding the cursor, one character at a time.

[Shift]+[Right Arrow] - Selects the text following the cursor, one character at a time.

[Shift]+[Del] - Cuts the selected text.

[Shift]+[Ins] - Pastes the text that was last cut using [Shift]+[Del].

[F10] - When sending individual messages, Keystroke displays the Clerk list. In all other cases, Keystroke sends the message and exits the message box.

[Shift]+[F10] - Prints the messages in the message box using Printer #1 (which by default is the report Printer).

[Esc] - Closes the message box without saving changes.
