Database Manager - Clerk Database - Main Screen - Security Level

The Clerk Security Level field displays the Security Level number assigned to the Clerk and controls their access to functions and operations.

In general, lower Clerk Security Level numbers provide access to more features and higher Clerk Security Level numbers provide access to fewer features. The Clerk Security Level number is compared to the security level numbers assigned to the functions and operations in the Security Levels definitions. The Clerk Security Level must be equal to or smaller than the security level assigned to the feature to allow access.

When Keystroke is run for the first time, Clerk 1 (named KEYSTROKE) is automatically assigned Security Level number 0 to allow access to everything. Security Level 0 should be assigned only to system administrators, store owners or managers. It is recommended that at least one Clerk has Security Level 0 assigned.
