The Transaction Lock function prevents Clerks from changing or editing transactions dated prior to the Transaction Lock Date and Time.

Note: Locked transactions may still be viewed or printed.

Protected/Locked transactions include:

- Sales Invoices
- Purchase Invoices Note: Purchase Invoice Payments may still be edited/added.
- Time Clock Entries
- Posted Variances

Other "pending" transactions that may still be changed or finalized are:

- On Holds
- Sales Orders
- Quotes
- Purchase Orders
- Saved Variances

There are two ways to lock transactions - Manually or Automatically.

To manually set the Transaction Lock date:

- Select Database from the Configuration Manager Settings menu.

- Enter the Transaction Lock Date and Time.

There are two ways to automatically set the Transaction Lock:

- In the Accounting Link module, enable the Update Lock Date Parameter.

- Using the MultiStore EXTRACT.EXE program: By default, extracted transactions are locked. Use the /NOLOCK command line switch to disable the automatic locking.
