There are times when it may be necessary to use a Windows Printer driver to gain access to a port. If for instance, if a device has a USB connection and doesn't have an OPOS driver, the port would normally be accessed using use the Generic / Text Only printer driver. To do so:
- Navigate to the Windows Control Panel.
- Locate the Printer Hardware options.
- It may be necessary to install the Generic / Text Only printer if it is not shown as one of the available printers.
- In Keystroke, for the Port setting, select the Generic / Text Only printer from the Direct to Windows Printer port list.
