Creating a new Sales Transaction is much like filling out an Invoice on paper.

The Sales Manager is the "Point Of Sale" module and the core of the Keystroke POS system. This module is used to enter and manage all sales transactions as well as to reconcile payments received with the physical contents of the cash drawer(s).  All transactions are entered on the main screen, which resembles a simple Invoice as shown above (except the Quote and Closeout (cash drawer reconciliation) functions which are actually sub-modules accessible from the Special menu).

The tremendously powerful User-Definable Transaction Types feature allows for as many as a dozen different types of sales transactions. Several Transaction Types are pre-configured and ready to use, including: Invoice, Layaway, Sales Order, Quote, On Hold, Rental, Gift Registry, Special Order, Service Order, Recurring Charge, and Archives. Extensive settings allow you to rename or control the behavior of each Transaction Type. Some of the settings include: the ability to require a minimum payment by percentage (e.g. on Layaways or Special Orders), whether to display one or two quantity columns and change the display titles of quantity columns.

Closeout (cash drawer reconciliation) details can also be saved as transactions, with full edit and reprint capabilities (limited by security levels).

As each sales transaction is completed, inventory levels are adjusted immediately and all details of the transaction are recorded.  The information is stored indefinitely and may be retrieved to verify purchases, reprint receipts, and include in sales analysis reports.

Most functions in the Keystroke program can be accessed from the Sales Manager, even when in the middle of entering a sale (i.e., add/edit Customers and Inventory on-the-fly).

   and the total is calculated. Or enter the Total and one of the
   dimensions is back calculated. Selecting the [Ok] button]) places
   the calculated total into the current field on the current line
   item and adds the formula to the beginning of that item's comment.
