Keystroke Credit Card Authorization Module

MercuryPay, the Keystroke Credit Card Authorization module, is included in the base system and provides the ability to process credit card sales transactions directly through your computer while using Keystroke.

Important Credit Card Data Security Update:

- Keystroke POS has been updated to comply with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards and the Visa USA Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP).

- Help prevent fraud and reduce liability risks. Storage of payment card data in Keystroke POS is limited to account numbers and expiration dates, and is protected by encryption and display masking. (Keystroke POS does not retain full magnetic stripe data or CVV2 data from credit card transactions.)

- Improved data encryption routines and new security controls have been added to Keystroke POS to help keep all valuable business data safe, including sensitive credit card data.

Keystroke Credit Card Authorization makes processing credit card transactions a breeze!

Keystroke Credit card transactions are authorized at the time of sale, and depending on which electronic processor is used, funds may be transferred to the bank account immediately or upon end-of-day settlement procedures. Keystroke Credit Card Authorization supports most national credit card processors. Credit card information can be entered manually, with a standard magnetic stripe reader, PIN pad, or signature capture device. Data is then transferred electronically to the processor via a high speed Internet connection or through a dial-up modem connection, either of which must be purchased separately.

The Keystroke program handles credit card transactions just like any other sale.  With the cursor in the Payment Reference field, just swipe the credit card through the mag-stripe reader, PIN pad, or signature capture device.  Another option is just typing in the credit card number and expiration date when necessary. Keystroke connects to the processor and requests authorization for the specified amount. Once authorization is complete, an approval code (unless declined) is displayed on the screen.  A signature receipt can be printed with all the necessary information for the credit card transaction.

Totally secure: The full numbers are never stored on Mercury's servers (only in the processing host). All transactions are encrypted with TripleDES, the United States government standard method of encryption. Online debit transactions involving PINpads are further encrypted with DUKPT, a highly effective method of encrypting passwords and key entered information. All transaction data is encrypted and stored behind firewalls.

Totally reliable: Mercury Payment Systems maintains multiple servers for redundancy and load balancing. Each server has a DNS name which enables the client component to use the alternate server if the primary server is unresponsive.

How MercuryPay Works: On the client side is an activeX component that is integrated into Keystroke. This component works with the MercuryPay server, standalone NetEpay servers, as well as Datacap Systems' Datatran dial-up processing machine. MercuryPay servers accept encrypted payment processing transactions over the internet from Keystroke. From Mercury Payment Systems' servers they are sent over a point-to-point connection to a processing host.
