Report/Label Editor - Width = 0

When the Width field is set to 0 (or is blank), all of the text in the field is printed. The way that subsequent fields on the same line are printed depends on the Width of those lines, the Space Before (Track) settings for those lines, and the length of the preceding (Width 0) field.

For example, where L = actual length of the preceding (Width=0) field, the field following it:

- is printed immediately after the preceding field when Space Before < L and Width = 0.
- is printed on the next line when Space Before < L and Width > 0.
- is printed immediately after preceding field when Space Before => L and Width = 0.
- is printed at the location indicated, counting from the left side of the page when Space Before => L and Width > 0.

For a Contact Database record with the value "(555) 555-5555 X1234567" in the Phone field and the value "(555) 554-5544" in the Fax field, AND if Line 2 of the Contact section consists of the Phone number followed by the Fax number, AND the Width setting for the Phone field = 0, the following settings produce the output shown below:

If Fax field:
Space Before = 1 and Width = 0
Output:
(555) 555-5555  X1234567  (555)
554-5544

If Fax field:
Space Before = 1 and Width = 24 (full width of Fax field)
Output:
(555) 555-5555  X1234567
  (555) 554-5544

If Fax field:
Space Before = 25 (Full width of Phone field + 1) and Width = 0
Output:
(555) 555-5555  X1234567  (555)
554-5544

If Fax field:
Space Before = 30 (Full width of Phone field + 6) and Width = 24 (full width of Fax field)
Output:
(555) 555-5555  X1234567
(555) 554-5544
