When credit card swipe data is being received, the data is encrypted as each character is received (in addition to the final swipe being encrypted after the last character is received).
To disable the Card Swipe Encryption:
- Select Parameters from the Configuration Manager Settings menu.
- Select Disable Card Swipe Protection with the [Spacebar] or mouse click so it is marked with an X.
Note: The used of Encrypted Card Readers is the best way to protect card data as it is then always in an encrypted state when travelling through the local computer system.
