Windows' built-in Calculator can convert between hexadecimal and decimal numbers:
- Select Programs from Windows' Start menu.
- Select Accessories from the Programs menu.
- Select Calculator from the Accessories menu.
- Select Scientific from the Calculator's View menu.
To convert hexadecimal to decimal:
- Click on Hex (below the Calculator's Edit menu), so that it is marked. In Hex mode, the A through F keys on the Calculator's keypad are available.
- Enter the hexadecimal number that to convert.
- Click on Dec, next to the hex button, so that it is marked. In Dec mode, the A through F keys are grayed out.
- The number is automatically converted to decimal.
To convert decimal to hexadecimal:
- Click on Dec.
- Enter the number in decimal.
- Click on Hex.
- The number is automatically converted to hexadecimal.
